Use this guide to connect a Samsung Smart TV to Remote Control for TV, the iPhone and iPad TV remote app.
How to Connect Samsung TV
- Make sure your iPhone or iPad and Samsung TV are connected to the same network.
To control a Samsung TV, you should turn off or set Access Notification to First Time Only. The settings can look a little different on your TV, but generally speaking:
- Open the Settings view and select General.

- Select External Device Manager.

- Then select Device Connection Manager.

- Select Access Notification.

- Set it to Off or First Time Only.

After this, choose your Samsung TV in the app. Some Samsung TVs will also show a 4-digit PIN on screen. Enter that PIN in the app to finish pairing.
What the app supports after pairing
- Full remote controls for navigation and playback.
- Launching apps directly from the app.
- Typing searches and passwords with your iPhone or iPad keyboard.
